The Jeffco Schools Foundation has been developing big ideas and creating bright futures since 1983. It was created by a group of citizens concerned with maintaining the high quality of public education, then and now.
The Columbine Memorial Scholarship Fund was founded by the Rocky Mountain News and Jeffco Schools Foundation using contributions received from individuals, families, and businesses following the tragic events at Columbine High School on April 20, 1999. Twelve students and one teacher died that day. The contributions they would have made to the world were lost as well. It is hoped that the recipients of this scholarship will carry on the legacy of these individuals by making a positive and lasting impact in the world. To date, the fund has granted more than $400,000 to students and teachers in Jefferson County.
