Music industry mogul and Montbello High School alumnus, Big Jon Platt is a prominent figure in the community of Montbello. Renowned for his publishing expertise, sharp business acumen and ability to identify global superstars early, Jon is one of the most influential executives in music today. In September 2012, Jon was named President of Creative at Warner/Chappel Music and was quickly promoted to the role of President, North America after spending 17 years at EMI Music Publishing. Since joining Warner/Chappell, he has been instrumental in attracting a wide range of new and established talent including Jay Z, Beyoncé, Roc Nation’s publishing roster, Mike WiLL Made It, Rihanna, Aloe Blacc, and Pharrell among others. While at EMI, Jon personally signed Pharrell, Drake, Kanye West, Young Jeezy, Mary Mary and Snoop Dogg at the onset of their careers.

Big Jon Platt’s dedication to his career is equally matched to the investment he has made in the educational excellence of Montbello high school students. As a product of the Denver Public School system, Big Jon has dedicated himself to his alma mater by extending a helping hand to those in need. Standing resolutely on the foundation that to whom much is given, much is expected, this Montbello High School alumnus is a reflection of the most positive aspects and individual character that one can possess.


The Big Jon Platt Scholarship Program, established in the fall of 2005, is an extension of Jon’s warm heart and his continued commitment to serving the community where he has deep roots. To date, the fund has granted $38,000 to outstanding Montbello High School, Denver Center for International Studies-Montbello, and Noel Community Arts School graduates.
