Alexander "Sandy" Brown
Alexander “Sandy” Brown was a Denver native and Colorado businessman who embodied the values of determination, hard work, the importance of family and of education. His character was highlighted by an incomparable joy of life. When one of Sandy’s four daughters became ill and had to undergo a kidney transplant, he put those skills of determination into action and became a passionate advocate for organ donation and transplantation, contributing to a number of transplant-related causes. Sandy recognized what the gift of life, an organ transplant, meant to his family and understood what a college degree could mean to someone who had already faced so many of life’s challenges. In that spirit, Sandy’s friends created this memorial scholarship.
